The new online space for Gary Raymond’s writing community and workshops - from idea to manuscript; get I evolved with discussions on structure, voice, character, and most importantly, how to turn that idea into a narrative that will engage readers.

Over my writing career, I’ve written three novels (one historical epic, one noir thriller, and a comedy), and three non-fiction books (a pop coffee-table biography of J.R.R. Tolkien, one about Love Actually, and one about the history of Welsh literature where I get lost in the underworld like Dante Alighieri), I’ve also written tens of thousands of words on Welsh art and culture when I was editor of Wales Arts Review, and I’ve been talking about the same stuff on my Radio Wales Arts Show for over eight years now. I have a PhD in creative and critical writing from Cardiff University where my research focussed on the story building around climate change narratives, and I have led workshops and taught creative writing at universities for over fifteen years.

Subscribers will be a party to an ongoing exploration of the art of narrative and storytelling, through discussions online workshops, and posts reacting to specific moments in literature, cinema, theatre, and all sorts of storytelling.
