This week on the Radio Wales Arts Show
Award-winning poetry, film musical with a difference, art of the valleys, and short stories about the predicament of men.
Another fascinating batch of conversations on this week’s Radio Wales Arts Show (live last night, but now available here on BBC Sounds).
I spoke with Janis Pugh, writer-director of romcom kitchen sink drama musical (with a difference) Chuck Chuck Baby about how the film portrays working class women.
Glyn Edwards came on to talk about (and read from) his poetry collection In Orbit, which last week won the Wales Book of the Year English language People’s Choice Award.
And in the studio I had a great chat with artist, curator, and owner of Gallery 10 in Cardiff, Cat Gardiner, about the current exhibition at the National Museum in Cardiff looking at the history of art from and about the south Wales valleys; and writer and filmmaker Oz Uyanik let us under the hood his new short story collection, Men Alone.
A packed half-hour, don’t miss it.
