On the difficulty of hating music
This week I was a guest on the Hellish podcast, discussing the music I cannot stand
A short while ago I was invited to be on a guest on the extremely entertaining Hellish podcast, created by the delightful demonic entities of Daniel Whelan and Alex Gale.
The premise of the podcast teases out the music that each guest would expect to hear played in the vestibules of the underworld - yes, it’s a lighthearted chat show about eternal torment.
I had a great deal of fun choosing my playlist of damnation, but, as you’ll hear on the recording, ideas about what makes terrible music have certainly softened since my youth. With one exception (you’ll see), I actually found it quite difficult.
Many thanks to Dan and Alex for having me on. Do support their project, and take a moment to explore their archive of really great guests.
