When at Wales Arts Review we published the series 100 Greatest Welsh Albums of All Time in 2022, it was partly because we had noticed if you googled “Welsh albums” the same old boring records would come up. Within a few weeks of putting up the final instalment, the WAR list was top of the google rankings, even landing above the Welsh album of the year award, which had been running for ten years or so by that point. One thing we did manage to do a few times at Wales Arts Review was spot a bit of thirst in the Welsh cultural sphere. And where there was thirst, we could offer some bevvies.
